Gold futures end higher, but post a loss for the week
Gold futures climbed on Friday, with losses in the stock market supporting haven demand for the precious metal but strength in the U.S. dollar keeping pressure on prices, sending them lower for the week. April gold settled at $1,318.50 an ounce, up $4.30, or 0.3% for the session. For the week, prices based on the most-active contract lost 0.3%.
