Apple Inc. announced the departure of one of its most high-profile executives Tuesday, with retail chief Angela Ahrendts leaving the company "for new personal and professional pursuits." The former Burberry CEO was lured to Apple in 2013, as the company sought to boost its retail stores and develop more of a luxury brand. Apple said Ahrendts would be replaced by Deirdre O'Brien, how is head of human resources at the company and will now take on a new title of senior vice president of retail and people. "The last five years have been the most stimulating, challenging and fulfilling of my career," Ahrendts said in Tuesday's release. "Through the teams' collective efforts, Retail has never been stronger or better positioned to make an even greater contribution for Apple."
